“Lucas Stand” from ‘Sons of Anarchy’ creator Kurt Sutter coming this June

(Press Release)

First revealed at WonderCon in Los Angeles, SONS OF ANARCHY creator Kurt Sutter announced he is partnering with award-winning publisher BOOM! Studios to launch his next series as an original comic book. The new limited series, entitled LUCAS STAND, will debut worldwide in comic book shops on June 22nd, 2016.

Sutter is the creator, writer, producer, director, and actor behind the hit FX television show SONS OF ANARCHY. He is also the creator, writer, and producer of BASTARD EXECUTIONER and worked as a writer, producer, director, and actor on THE SHIELD. He previously partnered with BOOM! Studios to produce 25 issues of the SONS OF ANARCHY comic book. For LUCAS STAND, his first original comic book series, Sutter is teaming with co-writer Caitlin Kittredge (Vertigo’s COFFIN HILL comic book series, Penguin Random House’s THE IRON CODEX book series) and artist Jesús Hervás (BOOM! Studios’ CLIVE BARKER’S HELLRAISER comic book series).

Lucas Stand is a military vet who can’t reintegrate into society and has emotionally cut himself off from the people he loves. At his lowest point, Lucas does something he can’t take back. Hell comes calling, offering him the opportunity to make things right. Demons escaping Hell are upsetting the balance of evil, and now Lucifer has recruited Lucas to send them back. It doesn’t matter in what era the demons escape—World War II, old-timey Hollywood, Vietnam, present day—he must learn to fit in both the past and the present. Given new purpose, Lucas starts to rebuild himself and his life, even as he struggles at the human cost that comes with it.

LUCAS STAND #1 will feature a main cover illustrated by Lee Bermejo (DC’s THE JOKER comic book series) and carries a retail price of $3.99 under Diamond Code APR161343.

Additional variant covers feature illustrations by Frazer Irving (DC’s BATMAN AND ROBIN comic book series) and Riley Rossmo (BOOM! Studios’ CURSE comic book series), and a Challenge Coin variant illustrated by Hervás. Orders close on May 23rd, and copies are anticipated to be in stores on June 22nd.
